A military officer and 4 troopers have been killed in an assault on their submit in Iraq’s central province of Salaheddin on Monday, officers mentioned.
Iraq’s ministry of defence mentioned that an officer and several other members of his regiment have been killed “whereas thwarting a terrorist assault”.
“Daesh terrorists launched an assault” on a military submit within the village of Mtebija “killing 4 troopers and the regiment commander,” mentioned a safety supply, utilizing an alternate title for the Islamic State group.
The jihadist group overran giant swathes of Iraq and neighbouring Syria in 2014, proclaiming its “caliphate” and launching a reign of terror.
