Home-grown automaker Mahindra & Mahindra’s two top-level executives, Satinder Bajwa, senior vice president and Head of Sales and customer care, and Harish Lalchandani, VP, Marketing, Mahindra Automotive, have quit the organisation, three people aware of the matter informed ETAuto on condition of anonymity.

The development comes when Mahindra & Mahindra has posted a strong performance on the sales chart. The company gained a 2.3% market share in the calendar year 2022.

On the back of the strong performance of Scorpio-N and XUV700, the company sold 333,054 units in CY22 which is also its highest-ever sales.

One of the sources also revealed that Amit Sagar, Business Head, Mahindra SCV & CE, is also moving on from Mahindra & Mahindra.

Sources confirmed that Satinder Bajwa will pursue his own interest and not join any other company as of now.

Bajwa took over as senior vice president and Head of Sales, and customer care on April 1, 2020. He joined Mahindra in April 2018 as Vice President – Small Commercial Vehicles. Prior to Mahindra, Bajwa worked with Nissan India for about two years. There he was responsible for sales of Nissan and Datsun India.

Prior to Nissan, he had worked with Hyundai and the country’s largest carmaker by volume Maruti Suzuki India (MSIL) for around six years. He worked with MSIL at various levels between March 2007 and April 2013.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Harish Lalchandani has taken up as Chief Commercial Officer for an Agri-Business role at Escorts Kubota.

He worked with Mahindra & Mahindra for over three years in different roles, Vice President – Marketing (PV & Pickup), and Vice President of Strategy – FES

Earlier, he worked as president and CEO – South Asia for GE Lighting.
