YouTube will remain the exclusive global livestream home of Coachella through 2030.

The Alphabet-owned platform and festival promoter Goldenvoice have renewed their exclusive livestream and content partnership, YouTube said on Wednesday (September 23).

The renewal extends an arrangement that was set to expire after this year’s festival, following a multi-year deal announced in January 2023 that ran through 2026.

YouTube did not disclose financial terms.

The announcement came from Lyor Cohen, Global Head of Music at YouTube, in a blog post issued alongside the company’s annual Made on YouTube announcements.

“Every April, music fans across the globe turn to YouTube to experience the energy and unforgettable performances of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival,” wrote Cohen.

The agreement covers both weekends of the festival, according to YouTube.

The company says the partnership will reach a milestone in April 2027, “marking 15 years of bringing the desert festival experience to fans worldwide.”

YouTube also says this year’s stream set a record for the most viewers watching at one time across the history of Coachella on the platform, without providing a figure.

“Over the past decade and a half, the Coachella livestream on YouTube has evolved from a single feed into a full interactive experience,” wrote Cohen.

“For artists, Coachella on YouTube offers a global stage that extends far beyond the festival grounds.”

The stream now carries a multiview option covering several stages, backstage Shorts from artists, co-viewing with creators, and merchandise sales, YouTube said.

Sets carried on the platform include Beyoncé‘s Homecoming performance and BLACKPINK‘s 2023 headline slot.

Justin Bieber performed at this year’s festival alongside footage from his own catalog of music videos.

His music video views rose 221% after that set, according to a Vevo study published in July.

“For artists, Coachella on YouTube offers a global stage that extends far beyond the festival grounds,” said Cohen.

“Performers can reach billions of international viewers to kick off their next album cycle, launch their own world tour, experience a collaboration they’ve dreamed of, or introduce the new look we’ll all be rocking this summer.

“As we look toward 2027, YouTube will continue delivering behind-the-scenes access and exclusive artist content.”

When the previous deal was announced in 2023, Cohen called the pair’s shared passion for innovation and for connecting artists with fans across multiple formats “the foundation of this decade-plus partnership.”

Goldenvoice President Paul Tollett said at the time: “Our partnership with YouTube brings Coachella to everyone around the world.”

Neither Goldenvoice nor parent company AEG Presents issued a statement alongside this week’s announcement.

Goldenvoice is the AEG-owned promoter behind Coachella and Stagecoach, and AEG‘s festival portfolio also takes in British Summer Time at Hyde Park, Electric Forest, and All Points East.

The renewal arrives as rival services move into live concert video, a format YouTube has carried at Coachella for more than a decade.

Spotify has held talks with festival promoters over rights to carry live concert video, Bloomberg reported in June, citing people familiar with the talks.

YouTube in June also launched a concert series called Music Nights, filming artists at small venues around their album releases.

YouTube last reported 125 million paid subscribers to YouTube Music and Premium worldwide, including trials, in March 2025.Music Business Worldwide
