Twitch streamer Lindsay “Lyndi” has shared a personal account of what she says was a difficult and abusive relationship after the recent Cornell University sexual assault case drew attention online. In a nine-page Google document titled “My side”, Lyndi said she had survived domestic and sexual assault/abuse and wanted to speak about her own experience. She also addressed past claims involving her former partner, streamer Neil “RatedEpicz”, including allegations that she blackmailed him. Lyndi said she accepts responsibility for things she did wrong but believes that does not erase what she says she went through.
Lindsay “Lyndi” explains her relationship with Neil “RatedEpicz”
Lyndi said her relationship with Neil “RatedEpicz” started well but later became difficult. She claimed he accused her of dating him for “clout” and called her several names. She said the arguments became worse and affected how she viewed herself.“We started dating, and like any other relationship, we instantly clicked. We were good for a few months until he started to accuse me of dating him for ‘clout’ and began to call me a leech, among other names. This happened multiple times throughout our relationship. The fighting had gotten worse and worse, the names more vile like ‘e st, wre’. This screenshot is included bc idgaf, he made me so insecure about my own ‘friend.’”She also described the relationship as controlling. According to her account, she was not allowed to speak to men, play with some friends, use VRChat or freely take part in roleplay. She later said she found out that her former partner had been unfaithful during the relationship.“Meanwhile, I had later found out he was cheating on me since the start of our relationship, and I don’t even know how many women total it was. I had only found this out at the end of our relationship. You can call me stupid for not assuming so because he didn’t allow me to tell a single soul we had dated. I felt isolated, scared to say anything…”
Lyndi denies blackmail claim and takes responsibility for her actions
Lyndi also responded to claims that she had blackmailed RatedEpicz. She said messages about money came while she was dealing with his alleged infidelity and worrying about their apartment and finances. She denied sharing his private information and made a separate allegation about a threat involving intimate images.“I never blackmailed him. I never shared his public information. If that is blackmail, then the time he had threatened to leak my nudes on Reddit was also blackmail. This relationship was incredibly toxic, start to finish.”Lyndi said she does not consider herself blameless. She acknowledged that some of the words and actions she used were wrong and said she has apologised to people she hurt.“The words I used were and still are unacceptable; I will take responsibility every single time, and I have apologized and will continue to apologize to the people I’ve hurt. Our relationship was terrible, but I didn’t deserve the things that I endured. Thank you for reading; use your voice. You are not small. Don’t be silenced.”The statement came after the Cornell case involving a former student known as Jane Doe gained renewed attention. The student filed a civil lawsuit alleging that she was drugged and sexually assaulted by multiple Chi Phi fraternity members in 2024. Prosecutors have since reopened the criminal investigation.
