Bonnie Tyler Health Update: Singer In Induced Coma After Surgery — Here’s What We Know

Legendary Welsh singer Bonnie Tyler has been placed in an induced coma after undergoing emergency intestinal surgery in Portugal, according to a statement released by her spokesperson.

The 74-year-old singer was rushed to a hospital near her residence in Faro, Portugal, on Wednesday after suffering a sudden medical emergency. Doctors reportedly carried out urgent surgery, and Tyler is now being closely monitored as she recovers.

Singer Into Induced Coma

A spokesperson for the singer confirmed that the medical team decided to place her in an induced coma to help her body heal after the operation. “Bonnie has been put into an induced coma by her doctors to aid her recovery,” the spokesperson said in the statement.

The representative also requested privacy for the singer and her family during this difficult period, adding that more information about her condition would be shared when possible.

The exact nature of the intestinal problem has not been publicly disclosed.

Over the years, Tyler earned Grammy nominations for her music and represented the United Kingdom at the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in 2013.
