NEW DELHI: IPL broadcaster Star Sports activities on Monday denied airing the audio of any private dialog involving Rohit Sharma. This assertion got here after the Indian captain accused the channel of “breaching” his privateness regardless of his requests to cease the recording.
Rohit was noticed asking the broadcasters to close down the audio whereas he was being recorded throughout a dialog with Kolkata Knight Riders’ Abhishek Nayar after an IPL match.
On Sunday, he accused the channel of airing this non-public dialog.
In response, the channel issued an announcement denying the allegation.

“The clip, taken throughout a coaching session on Might 16 at Wankhede stadium, for which Star Sports activities had authorised entry, momentarily confirmed the senior participant in dialog along with his associates on the sidelines. No audio from this dialog was both recorded or broadcast.
“The clip, which solely confirmed the senior participant requesting for the audio of his dialog to not be recorded, bought featured in Star Sports activities’ stay protection of pre-match preparations and lacked editorial relevance past this,” the channel said.
The audio of the chat was posted by KKR on their social media deal with resulting in hypothesis about Rohit’s future with Mumbai Indians.
Following the controversy, the video was taken down by KKR.
“The necessity to get unique content material and centered solely on views and engagement will in the future break the belief between the followers, cricketers and cricket. Let higher sense prevail,” Rohit had mentioned on his social media account on Sunday.
The channel mentioned it was dedicated to defending gamers’ privateness.
