The new ARAI-VE Lab Workplace at NATRAX is set to serve a broad spectrum of the automotive ecosystem, including vehicle and system manufacturers, as well as tyre companies across the country.

The Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI), a leading mobility research, testing and certification body under the Ministry of Heavy Industries, Government of India, has inaugurated its new office-cum-vehicle testing workplace at the National Automotive Test Tracks (NATRAX) in Indore.

The new site was formally opened by Dr Reji Mathai, director, ARAI, in the presence of Abdul Jabbar Akbar Badusha, senior deputy director & head of Vehicle Evaluation Laboratory, senior officials, and a customer delegation.

The new facility has been established in response to the growing needs of India’s rapidly evolving automotive sector, which is witnessing significant technological advancements. The site will enable ARAI to conduct cutting-edge vehicle dynamics testing and evaluation of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), among other services.

Support for manufacturers across the country

Dr Mathai highlighted the strategic importance of the new facility in enabling stronger industry collaboration: “The Indian mobility sector is continuously evolving with disruptive technologies and hence, requires uninterrupted collaboration between stakeholders. We are pleased to announce a new initiative, ARAI–Vehicle Evaluation Lab Workplace, which will provide our specially curated service portfolio through our presence at NATRAX facility, Indore.”

“This initiative will help us in realising our full potential and catalyse our support to the manufacturers for their certification & Homologation, and testing & validation needs connected with all aspects of Vehicle Dynamics,” he added.
