Punjab Kings’ bowling unit—featuring Yuzvendra Chahal, Marco Jansen, Glenn Maxwell, Xavier Bartlett, and Arshdeep Singh—delivered a stunning performance as the Shreyas Iyer-led side successfully defended a modest total of 111 runs. With the win, Punjab Kings defended the lowest total in IPL history.
After winning the toss and opting to bat first, Prabhsimran Singh was the top-scorer for Punjab with a quick 30 off 15 balls as they folded for 111 in just 15.3 overs. All KKR bowlers chipped in with wickets with Harshit Rana being the pick of them as he bagged three wickets.

Chasing 112, KKR got off to a shaky start but were well positioned at 74-4 before Glenn Maxwell and Yuzvendra Chahal weaved their magic to get KKR 77-7. Andre Russell threatened to take KKR home with a flurry of boundaries, smashing 16 runs off Yuzvendra Chahal’s final over, but Marco Jansen ended the charge by dismissing him. Russell’s wicket proved to be the final blow as KKR were bowled out for 95, falling short by 16 runs.
Punjab Kings now hold the record for defending the lowest total in IPL history with their gritty performance in Mullanpur.
