With both teams locked at 188, the match became IPL 2025’s first to be decided via Super Over, where DC secured victory with two balls to spare, showcasing nerves of steel under pressure.
Rajasthan Royals, chasing 188, were powered by fiery half-centuries from Yashasvi Jaiswal (51 off 37) and Nitish Rana (51 off 28), with Sanju Samson contributing a brisk 31 off 19 before leaving the pitch after sustaining an injury. Their combined efforts helped RR level the score, forcing the first Super Over of IPL 2025.
Delhi Capitals chased down the target of 12, as Trsitan Stubbs & KL Rahul sealed the deal, and with that, two crucial points. The DC batter sealed the win with ice-cool composure by scoring 2, 4, 1 and a match-winning six off just four balls to hand Delhi a dramatic Super Over triumph at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

Notably, the last IPL Super Over prior to this thriller occurred in 2021, when Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad were deadlocked at 159. DC eventually held their nerve to seal the victory in the one-over shootout.
