But the margin for error is now zero. To stay alive, RR must win all of their remaining five league matches. Doing so would take them to 14 points – a total that could potentially secure a top-four finish, depending on other results.
However, there’s one more hurdle: net run rate. Rajasthan currently has a poor NRR of -0.625, which could hurt their chances even if they finish with 14 points.
Therefore, it’s not just about winning – it’s about winning big. Convincing wins in the remaining fixtures are essential to improving that net run rate and staying competitive with other teams in the mix.
In short, Rajasthan’s road to the playoffs is tough – but not impossible. The Pink Army must go all in from here.
