New Delhi: There is a reason why behind-the-scenes footage from films and television shows are a huge hit on the Internet. The truth behind some of the most complex and iconic scenes in cinema can leave most of us in splits. Recently, actress Sonali Kulkarni left co-star Ravi Kishan a tad bit embarrassed when she spoke about a scene from one of their films. The actors were atThe Kapil Sharma Show, along with actor Sachin Khedekar to promote their web series The Whistleblower. In a promo clip shared online, Sonali Kulkarni talks about the time she played Ravi Kishan’s wife in a film.
In the video she says, “Mujhe Ravi ke saath kaam karne ka mauka mil raha tha. Shyam babu ne bola tha, ‘Ek role hai, karogi?’ Maine kaha mai karungi. ‘Tum biwi ho aur Ravi Kisan tumhare pati rahenge.’ Toh maine kaha, ‘Theek hai, wonderful. Ready sir.’ (I got the opportunity to work with Ravi in a movie. Shyam babu asked, ‘Would you be interested in a role?’ I said, ‘Yes.’ He added, ‘You and Ravi Kishan will be a couple’. I said, ‘Okay, wonderful. Ready sir’)”
Sonal Kulkarni then continued, “‘Ab tumhe — ye Ravi hai — iske upar khoodna hai. Palang thod do,'(Now you have to jump on Ravi, break the bed)” she said, quoting director Shyam Benegal.
She added, “Main sharm se paani paani ho gayi. Par Ravi tha saath mein tha toh mazza bhi bahut aaya (I was embarrassed but since it was Ravi, I had fun as well).” Hearing this Ravi Kishan quickly turns red in the face with embarrassment. Soon after having realised what her statement sounds like, Sonali Kulkarni begins to laugh as others join in.
Given that Sonali Kulkarni is referring to Shyam Benegal, it is possible that she is talking about the film Well Done Abba in which she played Ravi Kishan’s wife.
Before this Kapil Sharma was seen telling Sachin Khedekar that given how righteous he looks in life as well as in his films, the actor’s wife would never suspect him of having an affair even if she spotted a lipstick mark on his shirt. To this, Sachin Khedekar laughs and laments, “Itna mereko seriously mat lo yaar. By God, sadak chaap aadmi hu (Don’t take me so seriously. I am a loafer).”
Soon after, Ravi Kishan is also seen dancing with Krushna Abhishek, who plays various characters on the show.
