New Delhi: In a significant move within the automotive industry, Hero MotoCorp‘s Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO) Rachna Kumar, who quit the firm in February this year, has joined the rival TVS Motor Company as the Vice President- HR last week, people aware of the matter said.
ETAuto has learned that Kumar will be reporting to Anandakrishnan R, Group Head of HR at TVS Motor Company.
Having been in HR function for 24 years, Kumar quit Hero MotoCorp in about a year of working at the company, where she joined in January 2024. Prior to this, she had been associated with Whirlpool Corporation for close to 8 years.
During the span of her career of over two decades, she has served across Indian and multinational organisations across different industries. Her earlier stints include Tata Trent Westside, Coca-Cola Company, Castrol, Philips, and Amul.
Hero MotoCorp, the country’s largest two-wheeler maker, had earlier shared that Jyoti Singh, the head of HR for R&D, has been appointed deputy chief human resources officer. She has been with the company since 2022.
Hero MotoCorp leadership exits
Early this year, Hero MotoCorp said its CEO Niranjan Gupta resigned from the company, with April 30 set to be his last working day. The automaker’s current executive director for operations Vikram Kasbekar will be the acting CEO.
Gupta, who became CEO in 2023, joined Hero MotoCorp in 2017 as CFO.
Not just Gupta, Ranjivjit Singh, Chief Business Officer at the company has also stepped down from the role. Current National Sales Head for India Business unit Ashutosh Varma will become the new CBO for international business from May 1.
Last month, two executives including Reema Jain — chief information and digital officer and member of the executive management team and Sameer Pande- HR head for talent management, quit the company.
According to the latest data by the Federation of Automobile Dealers Association (FADA), Hero MotoCorp’s market share stood at 28.84 per cent in FY2024-25, a drop from 30.79 per cent during FY 2023-24.
