Hyundai Motor Company has launched the all-new Nexo fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) at the Seoul Mobility Show in Korea.
The second-generation mid-size SUV showcases advancements in hydrogen fuel cell technology, targeting increased range, enhanced safety, and improved performance.
The vehicle features a redesigned exterior based on Hyundai’s ‘Art of Steel’ design language, spacious interior with sustainable materials, and several technological upgrades, including advanced driver-assistance systems. With this, Hyundai aims to achieve a range of over 700 km with a five-minute refueling time for the Nexo.
Design & features
The Nexo’s exterior design is based on the INITIUM concept, with ‘HTWO’ Lamps serving as a distinctive design element. It will be available in six colours: creamy white pearl, phantom black pearl, amazon gray metallic, ocean indigo matte, ecotronic gray pearl, and goyo copper pearl. The car now offers increased battery capacity.
Technical improvements include underbody optimisations and airflow management, reduce drag with active noise control-road (ANC-R) technology and sound-absorbing tyres.
It also features a multi-skeleton structure and up to nine airbags for passenger and hydrogen tank protection. Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) technologies are included for collision prevention.
