IPL 2024 Date Schedule Announced: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Thursday (February 22) announced the schedule of TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 for first 21 matches. The 17th season of the marquee event will kickstart on 22nd March 2024, with a blockbuster clash between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore.

As per the schedule announced for the first two weeks of IPL 2024, a total of 21 matches will be played across 10 cities. Each team will have the opportunity to play a minimum of three matches and a maximum of five matches during this period.

The grand announcement was made live on Star Sports, official telecast partner of IPL, and Jio Cinema, the platform with live streaming rights for the marquee T20 tournament.

Due to the impending general elections in India, the dates of which remain unannounced, BCCI opted to release the IPL schedule in phases. For now, BCCI released IPL schedule for matches from March 22 to April 7, featuring four double headers within this time frame.

Despite the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the 2024 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will be conducted entirely in India.

The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 tournament is scheduled to take place in West Indies and the United States from June 1 to 29. IPL 2024 serves as a vital preparatory ground for players to fine-tune their T20 skills and form ahead of the prestigious global tournament.

It’s possible that the BCCI might organize an IPL 2024 opening ceremony ahead of CSK vs RCB clash on March 22, but the official confirmation regarding the star-studded event will be provided just before the league starts.
