Gujarat Titans head coach Ashish Nehra was seen screaming at his players from the sidelines during the team’s match against Mumbai Indians on Saturday, March 29. Nehra lost his cool in the first innings of the match when the side lost 5 wickets in the last 13 balls.

Gujarat failed to capitalise on their good start and could only put up 196 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. The team was 170/3 at 17 overs against MI and was primed to finish with a total of 200-plus runs. However, the side collapsed in the final two overs of the game, either handing catches in the deep or getting run out.

This resulted in a terrible loss of momentum in the last two overs, which restricted their total to 196 runs against Mumbai. At the time, it looked like they had scored at least 10-15 runs below par in the contest.

This was Gujarat Titans’ second collapse in two matches. In their first match against Punjab Kings, Gujarat were well set for a record chase of 244 runs in Ahmedabad. However, a collapse saw them go from 169/2 in the 14th over to 232/5 in 20 overs.

Nehra was not happy with the team’s poor finish with the bat on that day as well.

On March 29, GT were off to a rollicking start in the powerplay. But once the fielding restrictions ended, GT struggled to score boundaries. This put a lot of pressure on the finishers, who ended up throwing their wickets away.
