Gujarat Titans (GT) hammered the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) by eight wickets on Wednesday, April 2 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. With their defeat, RCB lost their top spot and dropped to third in the points table. Punjab Kings (PBKS), who are unbeaten thus far, became the new table-toppers.
After being asked to bat first, RCB huffed and puffed their way to scoring 169 for the loss of eight wickets. Liam Livingstone was their star performer after he scored a 39-ball half-century. But it was Tim David’s unbeaten 32 that injected momentum into the RCB innings. Mohammed Siraj was the star GT bowler with figures of 4-0-19-3.

The Titans chased down the target with 13 balls left in their innings. Jos Buttler was on top of his game after he scored an unbeaten 73 off 39 balls, laced with five fours and six sixes. He got the apt support from Sai Sudharsan, who made 49 runs. Sherfane Rutherford also scored a brisk 30 off 18 balls for the Titans.
