IPL 2025 Points Table: Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by five wickets with 3.5 overs remaining in the seventh match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season on March 27 (Thursday) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. While SRH were handed their first loss of the season, LSG tasted their first victory.
Opting to bowl first, LSG got off to a strong start as Shardul Thakur struck twice in the third over, dismissing Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan early. However, Travis Head counterattacked with a brisk 47 off 28 balls, while debutant Aniket Verma played a fiery cameo of 36 off 13. Despite their efforts, SRH managed to post 190/9, with Thakur finishing as the standout bowler, claiming 4/34.

In reply, Mitchell Marsh (52 off 31) and Nicholas Pooran (70 off 26) took the SRH bowlers apart, making the chase look effortless. The hosts managed to claw back after dismissing Pooran in the ninth over, but the damage was already done. LSG sealed a commanding five-wicket win with 3.5 overs to spare.
With the dominant win, LSG now find themselves positioned second in the IPL 2025 points table.
