Kia India‘s recently launched SUV, the Syros, has achieved a 5-star safety rating from the Bharat New Car Assessment Program (BNCAP), demonstrating the company’s commitment to safety and innovation. The Syros earned high marks for both Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and Child Occupant Protection (COP) in tests conducted on April 11, 2025.
The Syros achieved a score of 30.21 out of 32.00 for AOP and 44.42 out of 49.00 for COP.
The Syros underwent a series of rigorous crash tests to evaluate its safety performance. These included the Offset Deformable Barrier (ODB) Frontal Impact test at 63.95 km/h. The Mobile Deformable Barrier (MDB) Side Impact Test was conducted at 50.17 km/h, and the Pole Side Impact test at 29.17 km/h. These tests demonstrated the Syros’s structural integrity and ability to protect occupants in different collision scenarios.
Features
The Syros is a premium SUV designed to appeal to various market segments. It incorporates more than 16 autonomous safety technologies, including Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS Level 2). The vehicle also includes a standard 20-feature active and passive safety package. These features contribute to its high safety rating and solidify its position as a top contender in terms of safety within its segment.

Future lineup
Kia India’s introduction of the Syros reflects its strategy of bringing vehicles to market that combine performance, technology, and high safety standards. This aligns with the introduction of other next-generation vehicles like the EV9 and Carnival Limousine. Kia has standardized six airbags across all its product lines.
Kia continues to integrate advanced safety features such as ADAS Level 2. Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Vehicle Stability Management (VSM) are also included in their safety features. Over-the-Air (OTA) system software updates provided through Kia’s Connected car technologies further enhance safety. These updates allow for real-time software improvements and enhance user convenience.
