Royal Challengers Bangalore’s fortunes at their home ground, M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, finally took a turn for the better in IPL 2025. After suffering defeats in their first three home games this season, Bangalore bounced back in style on April 24 by securing a 11-run win over Rajasthan Royals, ending their winless run at the venue.

Virat Kohli (70) and Devdutt Padikkal (50) put on a stellar show with the bat to help RCB post a formidable total against Rajasthan. Backed by a sharp bowling performance, Bangalore successfully defended the target, clinching a win at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.

With this win, RCB snapped their home losing streak, registering their first win at the Chinnaswamy in IPL 2025 after a string of defeats.

Kohli-Padikkal firepower propels RCB to 205 against Rajasthan

Rajasthan Royals won the toss and opted to bowl first, giving Royal Challengers Bangalore the opportunity to set a total.

RCB capitalized on the chance, posting a formidable 205/5 in their 20 overs. Virat Kohli anchored the innings with a composed 70, while Devdutt Padikkal provided the acceleration with a brisk 50 off just 27 balls.

RCB got off to a strong start with Kohli and Phil Salt putting up 61 runs for the opening wicket. Salt looked steady before Wanindu Hasaranga dismissed him for 26 off 23 deliveries. Kohli then found solid support in Padikkal, and the duo stitched together a 95-run partnership for the second wicket, keeping the scoreboard ticking at a good pace.

Kohli eventually fell to Jofra Archer after scoring 70 runs from 42 balls, laced with 8 boundaries and 2 sixes. Shortly after, Padikkal brought up his fifty but was dismissed by Sandeep Sharma. In the same over, Sharma also removed RCB skipper Rajat Patidar, who could manage just 1 run.
