31 Healthy Punjab Health Centers are running in Barnala District: Deputy Commissioner
Barnala: Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh today inaugurated 107 Healthy Punjab Health Centers across the state during an online function. On this occasion, he encouraged the medical staff and paramedical staff who played a commendable role during the Covid pandemic and said that it is due to these warriors that we have succeeded in controlling such fatal disease.
Meanwhile, he appealed to the state dwellers to be more vigilant given the current situation of Covid, under the slogan of ‘Mission Fateh’ ‘Mask is the vaccine’. During the integration ceremony, the Chief Minister said that these health centers would provide basic health services to the people near their homes. These health centers have the facility of 27 types of medicines and 6 types of medical tests. He informed that the Union government had also acknowledged that Punjab is a leading state in providing health facilities.
The target is to set up 3049 centers in the state, out of which 2046 have been established, while 800 more will be launched in the next two months. Referring to Covid, the Chief Minister said that the state government had spent Rs.184.95 crore on PPE kits, 95N masks, and other medical equipment in the state while medicines worth Rs.5.57 crore had been provided. On the occasion, the Chief Minister apprised about the Health Insurance Scheme, Child Health Program, Hepatitis and Cancer Treatment Facility, and the work of the Health Department to build a drug-free Punjab. Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister Mr. Balbir Singh Sidhu said that 55 lakh people have been treated in these health centers since March 2019 till date. Taking part in the function from the district headquarters, Deputy Commissioner Tej Partap Singh Phoolka said that In Barnala district 31 Healthy Punjab Health Centers are running successfully and quality services are being rendered to the patients in the Government Health Centers.
