IPL 2025: Lucknow Super Giants cricketer Nicholas Pooran has started his IPL 2025 campaign on a stellar note, as the West Indian is the leading run-scorer of the tournament at the moment. The left-handed batter has scored fifties in his first two matches, as LSG have won 1 and lost 1 match so far.

Speaking during the post-match presentation ceremony, Nicholas Pooran stated that he prefers to get into ‘good positions’ to hit sixes, as his six-hitting exploits across different leagues over the past few years have left everyone in awe.

“I don’t plan to hit sixes. I just try to get in good positions and time the ball really well. I have been training really hard since the past 9 years and I really wanted to cash in during the powerplay. It’s a beautiful wicket to bat on,” said Nicholas Pooran.

“I mean, looking at the games before at this venue, every time you come at Hyderabad, you know it’s going to be a high scoring game. We were really happy to win the toss. If you lose wickets in the powerplay, you need to control things a bit but tonight all our plans went our way so happy with the result,” said the West Indian.

“Um, I have never worked on my bat speed. I am really happy with my contribution for the team and happy to get two points tonight. Yeah, I mean it’s a really long tournament. It was really good to see Marshy (Mitchell Marsh) hit the ball so well tonight and also in the previous game. I enjoyed the partnership tonight. That Left-Right combination worked out for us,” he added.

When Is LSG’s Next Match?

Lucknow Super Giants defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad on Thursday, and with the win, they have secured their maiden win of the tournament. LSG will next face PBKS at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Tuesday, April 1.
