Sue Perkins was born in Croydon in 1969 and studied English at Cambridge, the place she was president of Footlights. With Mel Giedroyc, her companion within the comedy duo Mel and Sue, she co-hosted the Channel 4 present Late Lunch and the primary seven seasons of The Nice British Bake Off. Perkins, who lives in north London, has written two books, introduced quite a few TV journey programmes, and is at present the host of Only a Minute on Radio 4. Her standup present A Piece of Work in Progress is at Pleasance Courtyard, Edinburgh from 20 to 26 August.
