What looked like a 200+ score for GT suddenly hit a roadblock, as the next 8 overs yielded merely 60 runs, at a loss of 6 wickets, as LSG bowlers staged a brilliant comeback, led by Ravi Bishnoi and Shardul Thakur.
In reply, openers Aiden Markram and Rishabh Pant had a hefty task of avoiding the risk of giving away wicket to in-form Mohammed Siraj, which they managed to do so comprehensively, as the Indian pacer ended his day with the figures of 0/50 in 4 overs.
The South African all-rounder scored a magnificent fifty, and the game was put to bed by this season’s stand-out batter – Nicholas Pooran, who blew away GT bowlers with a quickfire 61 off 34 deliveries, which included 7 sixes.
