The Indian Railways offered two child berths in Lucknow Mail on a trial foundation to facilitate ease of journey for moms travelling with infants, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw knowledgeable the Rajya Sabha on Friday.
Vaishnaw was responding to questions raised by BJP MP Sumer Singh Solanki, who wished to know if the federal government is contemplating putting in child berth seats in practice coaches.
“To facilitate ease of journey for moms travelling with their infants, two child berths have been offered as attachment to 2 decrease berths in a single coach of Practice No. 12229/30 Lucknow Mail on trial foundation,” the minister mentioned in a written reply.
“Preliminary passenger suggestions appreciated the hassle. Nonetheless, inter-alia problems with restricted baggage area beneath the seat and diminished knee area between the seats inflicting inconvenience to passengers have been noticed,” he added.
In line with Vaishnaw, modification and upgradation in passenger coaches is a steady course of for the railways.
