JAIPUR: The state government has decided to give tax exemption to public transport vehicles for two months during the period of red alert public discipline fortnights. Chief minister Ashok Gehlot approved the proposal to this effect on Tuesday.
The state government has decided to suspend the tax of contract carriage and state carriage class vehicles for May and June as public transport was not allowed during this period.
There was a complete and partial ban on the operation of passenger transport buses from April 14 to June 8, 2021 due to public discipline fortnight and other public restrictions.
During this, a total of 32,671 vehicles of contract carriage and state carriage category operating as public passenger vehicles in the state were not allowed to operate.
