Sara Tendulkar, daughter of cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar, has been announced as the owner of the Mumbai franchise in the second season of the Global e-Cricket Premier League (GEPL), an esports competition organized by JetSynthesys. The league, which is played on the popular mobile game Real Cricket, has grown significantly since its inaugural season, with player registrations increasing from 200,000 to 910,000.
GEPL has positioned itself as a major player in cricket esports, with a multiplatform reach of over 70 million and streaming over 2.4 million minutes of content across platforms such as JioCinema and Sports18. The second season aims to expand on its initial success with more teams, an advanced league format and a grand finale scheduled for May 2025.
