Tamil actor Shruthi Narayanan posted emotional notes on social media, calling out people sharing videos of her that she hinted are AI-generated.
Tamil TV actor Shruthi Narayanan has been in the news ever since clips claiming to be from her casting couch were circulated on various social media platforms. Rumours of them taken at an audition circulated, but the actor broke the silence on these claims, hinting they are AI-generated and hitting out at those sharing it. Shruthi Narayanan addresses alleged video leak
Shruthi posted a reel on her Instagram stories of an influencer explaining how easy it is to make AI-generated videos now. She also posted a note stating that the whole ordeal had been painful for her and her family, asking people to show some compassion.
She wrote, “For you guys, spreading all these contents on me it’s just a joke and fun content. For you guys, spreading all these contents on me it’s just a joke and fun content. But for me and my close ones, this is a very hard situations for us. Especially for me it is a very difficult time and it’s a difficult situation to handle it. (sic)”

Shruthi told those spreading the video just made it worse for her adding, “I’m also a girl and I also have feeling and my close ones also have feeling and you guys just make it worse and worse. (sic)” Requesting people not to spread it like ‘wildfire’ she questioned if people would do the same if it was women from their families in the video.
Shruthi reminds people of legal consequences
In another post, Shruthi shared legal provisions under which action can be taken against those circulating her video, writing, “Start being human. Sharing leaked videos, whether real or deepfake, is a criminal offence in India. Here are the legal provisions under which action can be taken.”

Shruthi began her career by acting in Tamil TV serials and gained recognition through shows like Siragadikka Aasai, which airs on Star Vijay and streams on JioHotstar. She also has a strong social media following.
In the meantime, Shruti Narayanan, who acted in Citadel: Honey Bunny, had to clarify that she was not the Shruthi whose video was circulating online. She had to clarify the same in an Instagram post.
