GT Vs MI: Gujarat Titans skipper Shubman Gill has revealed the reasons behind Rashid Khan creating an unwanted history, as the Afghanistan legend has managed to produce his first-ever IPL game, where the side bowled an entire quota of 20 overs, but with him missing out on bowling his respective quota of four overs.

The feat is achieved during GT’s impressive win over Mumbai Indians, where they handed them a crushing 36-run defeat at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday, March 29.

The GT captain stated that the impressive bowling of his fast bowlers forced him to continue with the likes of Kagiso Rabada and Prasidh Krishna for the death overs, and not Rashid Khan.

Here’s What Shubman Gill Said During Post-Match Presentation  Ceremony

Shubman Gill (Gujarat Titans Captain):

“I think yeah, the decision was taken before we played the first match that we will be playing the second match on a black soil wicket. Yeah, that was also another factor. I feel this wicket also suits our batting and as you can see, it worked out well for us.”

“That’s one of the factors batting on a black soil wicket. Once the ball gets old, it’s difficult to clear the boundary. We discussed it in the team meeting that we will maximize the powerplay. I think we can all talk about the plan but at the end if you get the desired result, all the things seem to be in place.”

“(On Rashid Khan not bowling his full quota) I don’t know maybe, this could be the first time that he has bowled only 2 overs for us in a match. I actually kept his overs to bowl at the end but with the way the fast bowlers were bowling, I just didn’t want to bring him back in. Prasidh bowled beautifully so I thought why not continue with him.”
