Sai Sudharsan, emerging as one of the brightest stars of the season so far, once again showcased his brilliant form, playing a superb knock of 82 runs off just 53 balls to steer Gujarat Titans to a formdibale total of 217/6. Backed by an all-round bowling performance, Gujarat went on to defeat Rajasthan Royals by 58 runs at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Rajasthan Royals won the toss and chose to bowl first against Gujarat Titans in their IPL 2025 clash in Ahmedabad. Gujarat, batting first, put up a commanding total of 217 runs for the loss of 6 wickets.

Sai Sudharsan steals the show

Sai Sudharsan continued his brilliant form with the bat, top-scoring for Gujarat Titans with a superb 82 off 53 balls. Despite the early dismissal of captain Shubman Gill, who was bowled by Jofra Archer for just 2, Sudharsan anchored the innings with confidence. He shared an important 80-run stand for the second wicket with Jos Buttler, who scored a quick 36 off 25 balls, including 5 boundaries, before being dismissed by Mahesh Theekshana.

Middle-order boost and finishing touch

Shahrukh Khan also made a strong contribution, smashing 36 runs from just 20 deliveries. However, wickets fell at regular intervals, with Mahesh Theekshana removing both Buttler and Shahrukh. Sherfane Rutherford managed just 7 runs before falling, and Rashid Khan chipped in with 12 before being dismissed by Tushar Deshpande. Rahul Tewatia provided the late fireworks, staying unbeaten on 24 off 12 balls and helping Gujarat cross the 210 mark.

Rajasthan’s bowling effort

Mahesh Theekshana and Tushar Deshpande were the pick of the bowlers for Rajasthan Royals, taking 2 wickets each. Jofra Archer and Sandeep Sharma also grabbed a wicket apiece.
