BENGALURU: With the months after the announcement of Tesla’s entry in the Indian market, a strong buzz has been developed and electric car enthusiasts are awating the launch of the much-anticipated car. Amid this buzz, Tesla’s entry-level Model 3 test drive images have surfaced online.
The company has registered its Indian unit under the name Tesla Motors India & Energy Pvt Ltd in Bengaluru in January this year.
The model 3 was spotted in blood red-coloured body in Bengaluru, according to ‘Automobili Ardent,’ a Facebook page about vehicles.
Model 3 is the base trim of Tesla which tagged at a price of $39,990 (approx. Rs 30 lakh) globally. However, due to the custom duty applied on foreign-made cars, the base model in India would cost approx. Rs 70 lakh- Rs 80 lakh.
Tesla Model 3 comes in single motor and dual motor variants. It is capable to cover 423 km when fully charged. It accelerates from zero to 100 in just 6 seconds. The top-end variant gets the range of 586 km and goes from zero to 100 in just 3 seconds.
It is highly expected that Model 3 would be first Tesla Model to be launched in India by the end of 2021.
