McLaren driver Oscar Piastri heaped praise on Vaibhav Suryavanshi after his record-breaking IPL hundred for RR against GT on April 28. Suryavanshi, who is the youngest debutant in the history of the tournament, scored the second-fastest hundred in the history of the tournament as he reached the landmark in 35 balls.
The likes of Rohit Sharma, Sachin Tendulkar and others heaped praise on the 14-year-old with Piastri being the latest. The Australian driver is a fan of the IPL and even conducted a ‘search for his team’ last year. Piastri shared a reel from IPL on the story of his official Instagram account, with 14 written and a clapping emoji. You can see it below:
Piastri and Suryavanshi are making giant strides in their respective fields this year with the McLaren driver making a big impact on the track. Piastri has won 3 out of the 5 races so far and leads the driver’s standings ahead of the Miami Grand Prix.
Suryavanshi came into the RR lineup after the injury to Sanju Samson and has gone from strength to strength, scoring 151 runs in three matches that he has played.
Suryavanshi aiming for India debut
After scoring his record-breaking IPL hundred, Suryavanshi said that he is focused on making his debut for the Indian national team soon.
“The truth is, now I have to push even harder — work more, perform more, until I reach that level where I can represent India. I will continue working hard until I get there, and I aim to represent the country and contribute something good for it,” said Suryavanshi.
Suryavanshi will be next in action when the Royals take on high-flying MI at the Sawai Mansingh stadium on May 1.
