Volkswagen India launched the Tiguan R-Line, its flagship SUV, at an introductory price of ₹48.99 lakh. The new model, built on the MQB EVO platform, comes with the 4EVER Care programme, which includes a four-year warranty, roadside assistance, and three free services.
It will be available across Volkswagen dealerships and the official website, with deliveries to begin from April 23, 2025.

The Tiguan R-Line is powered by a 2.0-litre TSI EVO engine, generating 204 PS of peak power and 320 Nm of torque. It is paired with a 7-speed DSG transmission and 4Motion all-wheel drive and comes in six colour options: Persimmon Red Metallic, Cipressino Green Metallic, Nightshade Blue Metallic, Grenadilla Black Metallic, Oryx White Pearl, and Oyster Silver Metallic.
Equipped with “Ergo active” seats with massage function and lumbar support, it also features three-zone air conditioning, Park Assist Plus with Park Distance Control, and inductive charging for two smartphones.The Tiguan R-Line includes DCC (Dynamic Chassis Control) Pro and a Vehicle Dynamics Manager (XDS). This system uses wheel-specific braking and shock absorber adjustments to enhance stability, agility, and comfort. The Tiguan R-Line is equipped with 21 Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driving Assistance System) features. Safety features also include nine airbags, a tire pressure monitoring system, hill start assist, hill descent control, and front and rear disc brakes. The Tiguan R-Line holds a 5-Star EURO NCAP safety rating.
Wireless App-Connect is available for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with wireless charging. Navigation information integrates seamlessly from the infotainment system to the digital cockpit.
Design
The exterior features a redesigned front with LED Plus headlights and a horizontal glass strip. It also features distinctive ‘R’ inspired 19-inch “Coventry” alloy wheels with diamond-turned surfaces, and a horizontal LED strip emphasising the rear design. The interior showcases ‘R’ inserts on the front sport comfort seats, an illuminated ‘R’ logo on the dashboard, ambient lighting with 30 color options, a panoramic sunroof, illuminated door handle recesses, and pedals in brushed stainless steel.
The Tiguan R-Line features a 26.04 cm customisable digital cockpit with various information profiles. A 38.1 cm infotainment system provides a redesigned menu and graphics. The vehicle also boasts a head-up display, a multi-function driving experience dial with a TFT LCD display, and an eight-speaker sound system.
The exterior design of the all-new Tiguan R-Line blends form and function with a bold front featuring LED Plus headlights and a horizontal glass strip. Complementing this, the rear design incorporates a horizontal LED strip alongside the combination lamps. The 19-inch “Coventry” alloy wheels contribute to the vehicle’s sporty aesthetics.
