Pakistan makes history: Biggest win ever recorded!

Chasing a daunting target of 206, Pakistan achieved the total in just 16 overs – the fastest-ever successful chase of 200+ runs in T20 history. No team had previously completed a 200-run chase in such a short span, making this an unprecedented milestone in the format.

The match also saw an individual record tumble, as Hasan Nawaz, opening for Pakistan, smashed a century in just 44 balls – the fastest T20 hundred by a Pakistani batsman. He broke Babar Azam’s previous record of a 49-ball century against South Africa in 2021. Before Babar, Ahmed Shehzad had held the record with a 58-ball ton in 2014.

New Zealand had posted 206 runs while batting first, but Pakistan’s chase was clinical. Mohammad Haris played a impactful knock of 41 off 20 balls, while Salman Ali Agha contributed with an unbeaten 51 off 31 balls.

The standout performer was Hasan Nawaz, who hammered 105 off just 45 balls, hitting 10 fours and 7 sixes, guiding Pakistan to a thumping nine-wicket victory.

Pakistan kept their hopes alive in NZ vs PAK five-match T20I series with a stunning run chase in the third T20 against New Zealand. With two matches still to go, the series remains wide open. The focus now shifts to the fourth game on March 23.

“Outstanding performance. Proper game we have played, the bowlers started really well and then the two youngsters batted really well. If you back the youngsters they will do well like today.

“200 is a par score on this, good wicket and I just said to the guys we can chase this down if you bat well. The bowlers did really well, restricting them to 200 was a very good effort from the bowlers and I’m very happy. It was do or die and we just wanted to go out and enjoy ourselves today. Looking forward to the next game as well,” Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha said after the win.
