6 MLAs Disqualified By Congress, 3 Independents Join BJP In Himachal

New Delhi:

Six former Congress MLAs of the Himachal Pradesh Meeting who had been disqualified after they defied a celebration whip and cross-voting within the Rajya Sabha polls, had been joined by three unbiased MLAs in becoming a member of the Bharatiya Janata Celebration (BJP) in the present day.

The exodus from the Congress to the BJP was formalised in a ceremony attended by distinguished BJP figures together with Union Minister Anurag Thakur, former Himachal Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, and the state unit president Rajeev Bindal. Mr Thakur, whereas welcoming these former Congress legislators into the BJP fold, criticised the incumbent Congress authorities within the state by alleging its failure to fulfil electoral guarantees.

The six disqualified Congress MLAs who switched allegiance to the BJP are Sudhir Sharma, Ravi Thakur, Rajinder Rana, Inder Dutt Lakhanpal, Chetanya Sharma, and Devinder Kumar Bhutto. Elected on a Congress ticket, they had been disqualified on February 29 for refusing to observe social gathering directives. Their actions, which included abstaining from voting in favour of the state authorities throughout a decisive movement within the Himachal Pradesh Meeting, led to their expulsion from the Congress.

The three unbiased MLAs who joined the BJP are Ashish Sharma, Hoshiyar Singh, and KL Thakur.
