Trudging through an airport with your heavy luggage is typically not a joyous experience, but some travel hubs can be more taxing than others.
A new study has revealed the most stressful airports in America based on delays and cancellations, and how long it takes to get from there to the city’s downtown area.
It’s no surprise that the top five most stressful airports are also some of the busiest in the U.S., with millions of travelers moving through each year.
Here is a list of those airports, their locations, and their delay and cancellation rates:

Dallas/Fort Worth International
Dallas/Fort Worth International, a 26-minute drive from downtown, was ranked the most stressful airport among more than 50 major U.S. airports, with a delay rate of 27.86 percent and a cancellation rate of 2.76 percent, according to the analysis released by airport parking reservation company Rightway Parking.
In August, Dallas/Fort Worth International saw more than 7.38 million passengers, according to the airport’s latest traffic statistics. On Monday alone, there were 339 delays and one cancellation, flight tracking site FlightAware says.

O’Hare International
O’Hare International in Chicago, a whopping 50 minutes from downtown, was No. 2 on Rightway Parking’s list. It has a 24.68 percent delay rate and a 1.73 percent cancellation rate.
The airport sees nearly 1,300 daily direct flights, according to numbers released in September. There were 334 delays and six cancellations at O’Hare on Monday, FlightAware says.

Ronald Reagan Washington National
Ronald Reagan Washington National, which serves the Washington, D.C., area and is just 16 minutes from downtown, was ranked the third most stressful airport. While the delay rate, 24.69 percent, was about the same as O’Hare, its cancellation rate was higher than the top two most stressful airports at 3.86 percent.
Ronald Reagan Washington National saw 2.17 million passengers in July, according to the latest data from the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority. The airport also competes with Washington Dulles International, which is ninth on Rightway Parking’s list.
Travelers at Ronald Reagan Washington National saw 172 delays on Monday, according to FlightAware.

John F. Kennedy International
John F. Kennedy International in New York City, a cumbersome 45 minutes from downtown, was No. 4 in the ranking of most stressful airports with a 20.77 percent delay rate and 2.02 percent cancellation rate. LaGuardia, which also serves New Yorkers, was ranked sixth on the list.
The airport has seen more than 27,500 passengers this year, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation’s data as of Monday. There were 172 delays and 10 cancellations at JFK on Monday, FlightAware says.

Philadelphia International
Philadelphia International, which ranks No. 5, had a worse delay and cancellation rate than JFK at 23.40 percent and 2.09 percent, respectively. But it’s only 20 minutes from downtown.
More than 3 million passengers moved through Philadelphia International in July, according to the latest airport data. Travelers experienced 193 delays and seven cancellations on Monday, according to FlightAware.
