A bar in Hong Kong has been named the best in the world for the second year in a row.
Bar Leone took the top spot for establishing itself as “one of Hong Kong‘s defining cocktail destinations, bringing a slice of Roman drinking culture to the city’s Central neighbourhood” since opening in 2023.
More than 800 experts voted to create The 50 Best Bars 2026 list, sponsored by French brand Perrier.
With bars from 26 cities, the 2026 list also features 14 new entries from Athens to Bangkok, Buenos Aires and Hong Kong.
The 50, owned by William Reed, has published its ranking of the best global drinking venues annually since 2009.
London institution the Connaught Bar also made the list of top tipples, with two spots in Mexico City – Handshake Speakeasy and Bar Mauro – ranking in the top 10.

Satan’s Whiskers (29th) in Bethnal Green and Waltz (32nd) in Shoreditch also scored highly for London’s drinking scene.
Separately, Edinburgh’s Panda & Sons was awarded the “Siete Misterios Best Cocktail Menu Award” for its Transcend menu at the live awards ceremony in Milan, Italy, on 7 October.
Paris, Hong Kong and New York each saw four bars score in the top 50.
