Indian cricketer Mayank Agarwal carried his own water bottle on flight as a precaution after falling ill last month. Back in January, the batter fell sick and had to be rushed to the hospital after he drank from a pouch.
Mayank took to his Instagram story and wrote, “Bilkul risk nahi lene ka re baba”.
The caption he used was from the popular Bollywood comedy, Hera Pheri, featuring Paresh Rawal and Akshay Kumar, Bipasha Basu and others.
How did Mayank Agarwal fall sick?
Agarwal, the Karnataka Ranji Trophy captain, was preparing to depart from Tripura for New Delhi with his teammates when the incident happened.
Just moments before their flight was scheduled to take off, Agarwal fell ill under alarming circumstances. After he accidentally consumed from a pouch, mistaking it for water, it resulted in immediate discomfort and a burning sensation.
This unexpected turn of events prompted an urgent response, leading to Agarwal being rushed to a local hospital in Agartala for medical attention.
The seriousness of the situation was underscored by the fact that Agarwal experienced stomach pain, swelling, and ulcers in his mouth, symptoms indicative of the ingestion of a potentially harmful substance.
In light of these developments, Agarwal lodged a police complaint through his manager to investigate the matter further, highlighting the gravity of the incident and the need for clarity on how such a hazardous substance ended up in his possession.
As a consequence of this health scare, Agarwal was ruled out of participating in the next Ranji Trophy game against Railways in Surat, a significant blow to his team given his leadership role and prowess as a batsman.
