Britons travelling by train this Bank Holiday weekend will be able to order a Domino’s pizza directly to their seats.
In a UK-first, Trainline has partnered with the takeaway giant to provide the Train Line Train Thru facility on Lumo train services.
Delivery will only be available on some services between London Euston and Stirling in both directions across the Bank Holiday weekend.
Passengers can order a pizza in advance, with the food delivered by staff waiting at Preston station – which is roughly halfway through the trip from London to Stirling.
Travellers can pick from a number of classic Domino’s pizzas – including Cheese and Tomato, Peperoni Passion, Vegi Supreme and Plant-Based Margheri-tastic.
Booking will be open until midnight before a journey.
Research by the brands found that over half (53 per cent) of travellers underestimate their hunger on long trips.
Additionally, research showed that a majority (57 per cent) of travellers thought that food on offer at stations and on board UK trains was lacking.
A third (35 per cent) said they had attempted to get a takeaway delivered while on board a train – but only one in five (20 per cent) managed it successfully.

It comes as the pizza chain announced it would be recruiting 5,000 new workers in the next few months.
Jobs are being created for in-store staff and delivery drivers at its 1,400 stores across the UK and Ireland between now and Christmas.
The company said its research showed how jobs often seen as short-term can provide valuable experience, transferable skills and opportunities for longer-term progression.
Domino’s said nine in 10 of its store managers started out as an in-store team member or driver.
Bookings for the Trainline Train Thru are open from today on a first-come, first-served basis.
