Former Uttar Pradesh minister Azam Khan together with three others was convicted by a particular courtroom right here on Saturday in a case of a compelled demolition of a home in 2016 within the Dungarpur space, officers mentioned.

The courtroom will pronounce the quantum of punishment on Monday, they mentioned.

The case was registered on the Ganj police station below the Indian Penal Code sections 447 (punishment for felony trespass), 427 (mischief inflicting injury to the quantity of fifty rupees), 504 (intentional insult with intent to impress breach of the peace), 506 (punishment for felony intimidation), 395 (punishment for dacoity) and 412 (dishonestly receiving property stolen within the fee of a dacoity), Pandey mentioned.

The case was filed after the change of presidency in Uttar Pradesh, he added.

The 4 accused have been convicted for offences below Indian Penal Code sections 447, 427, 504, and 506, he mentioned.
