Ghost purchasing centres expanded in 2023 to 13.3 million sq. toes (msf), registering a development of 59 per cent in opposition to a 12 months earlier, a report by Knight Frank revealed on Tuesday.

Following Delhi-NCR, Mumbai clocked the second largest presence of the ghost purchasing centres at 2.1 msf. Bengaluru registered 2 msf of the centres, whereas Hyderabad was the one exception within the Tier-I cities to report a decline within the ghost purchasing centres stock of 19 per cent to 0.9 msf in 2023.

The sharpest development price was witnessed in Kolkata at 1.1 msf, marking a leap of a whopping 237 per cent from 0.3 msf in 2022. 

Total, the report identified that the purchasing centre emptiness within the eight main cities in India obtained higher to fifteen.7 per cent in 2023, from 16.6 per cent in 2022. This confirmed that retail section noticed a surge in demand.
