New Delhi: The Gross Items and Providers Tax (GST) collections hit a file excessive at Rs 2.10 lakh crore in April, rising 12.4 per cent on year-on-year foundation, the Finance Ministry stated in an announcement on Wednesday. GST assortment in March reached Rs 1.78 lakh crore. It is notable that the highest-ever GST assortment was recorded at Rs 1.87 lakh crore in April 2023.

The expansion was pushed by a 13.4 per cent development in home transactions and eight.3 per cent development in imports. “The Gross Items and Providers Tax (GST) collections hit a file excessive in April 2024 at Rs 2.10 lakh crore. This represents a major 12.4 per cent year-on-year development, pushed by a powerful improve in home transactions (up 13.4 per cent) and imports (up 8.3 per cent),” the ministry stated.

After accounting for refunds, the online GST income for April 2024 stands at ₹1.92 lakh crore, reflecting a powerful 17.1% development in comparison with the identical interval final yr. 

Breakdown of April 2024 collections:

  • Central Items and Providers Tax (CGST): Rs 43,846 crore
  • State Items and Providers Tax (SGST): Rs 53,538 crore
  • Built-in Items and Providers Tax (IGST): Rs 99,623 crore, together with Rs 37,826 crore collected on imported items
  • Cess assortment: Rs 13,260 crore, together with Rs 1,008 crore collected on imported items
