Japanese Automaker Toyota Kirloskar Motor has issued a recall for the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 luxury SUV in India. The company has recalled a total of 269 SUVs manufactured between 12 February 2021 to 1 February 2023. The SUV are called back to reprogram its automatic transmission’s ECU software and there are no reported cases related to the affected part.

Customers will be contacted by Toyota dealer representatives individually and the automaker will reprogram the ECU of the 10-speed automatic transmission. affected SUVs free of cost. The company also clarified that customers can continue to drive their SUVs until the software has been updated and it won’t cause any serious problems. Customers can check if their Land Cruiser LC300 is among those recalled by entering the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on the company’s website or they can also contact the customer care centre.

The Toyota Land Cruiser LC 300 was launched in India at the end of 2022 and it was also previously imported by private dealers. The price for the luxury SUV starts from INR 2.1 crores (ex-showroom). The LC300 is offered with five colour options, and three upholstery options – beige, black and a red/black dual-tone option.

The Toyota Land Cruiser 300 is based on the new GA-F platform retaining the ladder-frame construction. In India, the SUV is offered with a single 3.3-litre turbocharged diesel engine which puts out 305 hp of power and 700 Nm of torque. Engine comes paired with a 10-speed automatic gearbox and it also gets 4×4 as standard.

In terms of features, the SUV gets a 12.3-inch touchscreen system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a 14-speaker JBL audio system, LED lights, 20-inch alloys, sunroof, front and rear heated and ventilated seats, four-zone climate control, 360-degree camera, cooled centre console, drive modes, off-road modes, crawl function, 10 airbags and much more.
