David Awschalom is the Liew Household Professor of Molecular Engineering and Physics on the College of Chicago’s Pritzker College of Molecular Engineering. He is additionally the founding director of the college’s Bloch Quantum Tech Hub, which expects to create 30,000 quantum jobs by 2035 and generate $60bn for the economic system. It is a collaboration with consultants in Australia, India, Japan, the Netherlands and Israel.
