NEW DELHI: As Donald Trump and Joe Biden anticipate a potential rematch, the former US President said that he was ready for a face-off with President Biden on the debate stage, Fox News reported.
“I’ll do it right now on your show. I’ll challenge him right now,” Trump said at the Fox News town hall.
Referring to Biden, Trump further added, “I don’t think he’s going to debate.I really don’t think so.”
The former president, who skipped five Republican primary debates, said that “when you debate, you want to be smart.” You don’t need to spend your time, Fox News reported.
Responding to the challenge, Biden said, “Well, if I were him, I’d want to debate me, too,” further adding that Trump has “got nothing else to do.”
However, Biden is yet to confirm if he will participate in the debates as he runs for reelection.
This comes four days before South Carolina’s Republican presidential primary, in which he maintains a sizable double-digit lead over former UN ambassador and former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, his last major rival for the GOP nomination.
