NEW DELHI: Jammu & Kashmir is likely one of the various states in India represented by 5 six seats within the Lok Sabha. Earlier, Ladakh was additionally thought of one of many constituencies of Jammu and Kashmir till its recognition as separate Union territory in 2019.
Baramulla, Srinagar, Anantnag, Udhampur, Jammu are the 5 constituencies within the state. BJP, Congress, Jammu & Kashmir Nationwide Convention (JKNC), Jammu and Kashmir Individuals’s Democratic Get together (JKPDP), Jammu and Kashmir Individuals’s Convention (JKPC), Democratic Progressive Azad Get together (DPAP) are a number of the main political events that contest to win a seat from the state.
In response to the Election Fee announcement, voting in Jammu and Kashmir can be performed in 5 phases with counting of votes on June 4.
As per the schedule- voting will start with Udhampur on April 19, Jammu on April 26, Anantnag-Rajouri on Could 7, Srinagar on Could 13 and finish with Baramulla on Could 20.
In 2019, NDA gained 2 seats and JKNC gained 3 seats whereas the Ladakh (a part of J&Okay on the time) seat was gained by BJP.
For the upcoming elections BJP has fielded Dr Jitendra Singh from Udhampur and Jugal Kishore Sharma from Jammu.
In the meantime, Congress has fielded Ch Lal Singh from Udhampur and Raman Bhalla from Jammu for the 2024 polls.
For the Anantnag-Rajouri seat, DPAP chief Ghulam Nabi Azad will go towards Mian Altaf.
G M Saroori on DPAP’s ticket will run for the Udhampur seat.
In the meantime on the Baramulla seat, JKPC chief, Sajad Gani Lone can be contesting the elections.
