The mannequin ascended the Met steps in a pale pink, body-hugging Swarovski costume coated in 180,000 rose-colored crystals, which a workforce of seven created over 225 hours. Affixed with a corset of 3D flowers, the robe featured falling petals—a reminder of the fleeting cherry blossom season. Kloss’s gilded flowers had been connected to a crystal-studded department that wrapped round her neck and shoulders. The gilded garlands had been embellished with 60,500 crystals and revamped 1,600 hours by 5 craftspeople.
Swarovski’s artistic director Giovanna Engelbert introduced a supermodel crew alongside along with her to the 2024 Met Gala. Irina Shayk channeled air in a crystal netted costume made from 84,000 clear crystals. Imaan Hammam joined in a yellow two-piece skirt set, and Anok Yai wore a blue gradient bodysuit.
