Missing Dog's Dramatic Reunion With US Family, 2,000 Miles From Home

A canine that went lacking in California was discovered greater than 2,000 miles away in suburban Detroit, prompting a dramatic reunion with its homeowners.

Police picked up the terrier-mix known as Mishka — who vanished final July — and took her to an animal shelter after a resident reported a stray canine close to Harper Woods, within the midwestern state of Michigan. 

Workers on the Grosse Pointe Animal Adoption Society (GPAAS) discovered she had a microchip, which recognized her homeowners as residing 2,343 miles away in San Diego — although it was unclear how she had traveled thus far.

Proprietor Mehrad Houman and his household occurred to be on trip within the midwestern metropolis of Minneapolis across the time Mishka was discovered, GPAAS stated. 

Although the drive from Minneapolis to gather her from the shelter was shorter than a visit from California, it nonetheless took 10 hours.

“This can be a story that Hollywood would love to inform,” GPAAS stated in a Fb submit on Wednesday. 

Footage and movies shared by the group confirmed Mishka, a scraggly, small, white-haired canine, wagging her tail as she was reunited together with her homeowners.

“That is the completely satisfied ending all of us needed,” GPAAS wrote. 

It added that Mishka was because of fly again to California together with her household after being checked by a veterinarian.
