Prime Minister Modi in his last Mann Ki Baat address before the Lok Sabha polls said that India’s youth who will vote for the first time in this year’s general election should cast their ballots in large numbers
Union Minister Anurag Thakur in a special message on Tuesday urged Indian citizens, especially young voters, to take part in the process of making the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha Elections successful by casting their vote.
Sharing a music video of the Election Commission’s ‘Mera Pehla Vote Desh Ke Liye’ Campaign, the union minister asked people to not only vote but also encourage young voters to cast their vote for the development of the country.
Thakur’s message comes after PM Modi in his 110th Mann ki Baat address lauded the Election Commission of India’s campaign — Mera Pehla Vote Desh Ke Liye (my first vote for the country) — to urge first-time voters to cast their votes in large numbers.
“A clarion call was given by our Honourable PM Shri Narendra Modi ji in his recent Mann Ki Baat address & as the Nation gears up for its biggest festival of democracy, I urge all of you to join the ‘MeraPehlaVoteDeshKeLiye’ campaign and encourage young voters to exercise their democratic right,” Thakur wrote on X.
Prime Minister Modi in his last Mann Ki Baat address before the Lok Sabha polls said that India’s youth who will vote for the first time in this year’s general election should cast their ballots in large numbers.
“You should keep in mind that your first vote should be for the country,” he said, urging influencers and other prominent personalities to motivate first-time voters.
With the Lok Sabha polls expected in April-May, the prime minister said there is a possibility that the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) will be enforced in March like it was done in 2019, a reference to the expected announcement of the election schedule sometime next month.
The MCC guidelines of the Election Commission ask governments to not use official events or public-funded platforms for something that may be seen to give the ruling party publicity or political advantage.
