India will begin their campaign at the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027 against defending champions Australia at Newlands in Cape Town on October 7, the International Cricket Council announced on Thursday. Shubman Gill’s side have been placed in Group A alongside Australia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Zimbabwe and Qualifier A.
The blockbuster clash against arch-rivals Pakistan will follow three days later at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg on October 10. India will then face Afghanistan at the Centurion in Tshwane on October 14, before taking on Qualifier A in Bloemfontein on October 17. Their final group-stage fixture will be against co-hosts Zimbabwe at the newly constructed Victoria Falls Stadium on October 24.
