AMSTERDAM: Berlin police on Tuesday broke up a protest by a number of hundred pro-Palestinian activists who had occupied a courtyard on Berlin’s Free College earlier within the day. The protesters had put up about 20 tents and fashioned a human chain across the tents.
Police referred to as on the scholars through loudspeakers to go away the campus.
Most protesters had coated their faces with medical masks and had draped kufiyahs round their heads, shouting slogans like “viva, viva Palestina.”
In latest days, college students have held protests or arrange encampments in Finland, Denmark, Italy, Spain, France and Britain, following earlier protests which have roiled US campuses.
